Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released notification, and
started registration process for the engagement of 1,574 apprentices in
the refineries division.
The posts and their vacancies are as follows. Trade apprentice posts are for attendant operator with 407 vacancies, fitter with 154, boiler with 88, secretarial assistant with 75, account with 26, DEO fresher with 42, and DEO skill certificate holder with 36.
Then there are technician apprentice posts for chemical with 271 vacancies, mechanical with 164, electrical with 215, instrumentation with 96 vacancies.
For each of the refineries divisions, IOCL has received different advertisements. However the corporation has published one consolidated advertisement for them all.
Candidates need to have simply passed ITI in relevant trade, that is no percentage criteria has been kept. A relevant point in the notification is, that such candidates who have a higher professional qualification such as BE / B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA as at the time of joining apprenticeship, are not eligible.
IOCL requires applicants to be between 18 to 24 years of age as on October 31, 2019. This limit is applicable on general and EWS category. Those in SC, ST, OBC, PWD category shall enjoy a relaxed upper age limit.
IOCL apprentice recruitment 2019 registration process has started at iocl.com. To apply, one has to go to the website, and click show all under whats new. Then go to engagement of apprentices under refineries division, then select the trade or discipline. And finally hit the link of the refinery unit where they want to get the apprenticeship training.
The registration is against zero fee.
The last date to apply is November 15, 2019 5 pm. Then from November 20, 2019, to November 23, 2019, candidates will be able to download admit card. After that the exam is on November 24, 2019. IOCL will thereafter declare results of the written exam on November 29, 2019. Finally, document verification will take place from December 4, 2019, to December 11, 2019.
IOCL shall conduct a written test for the purpose of selection. Selection to the divisions shall be on the basis of marks in the same. Wherever there be a tie, IOCL shall break the same on the basis of age.
Those who apply for engaging as apprentice in refineries at Guwahati, Barauni, Gujarat, Haldia, Panipat, Digboi and Bongaigaon, will be able to appear for the exam in the refinery unit. However for Mathura and Paradip refineries, candidates will be called in Delhi and Bhubaneswar respectively. IOCL admit card will convey the exact exam centre.
Examination shall be of MCQ type. Candidates will have to score at least 40% in order to qualify. However SC, ST, PWBD shall require 35%.
Exam will be followed by document verification. After which, final result will be announced on the basis of performance of candidates, and vacancies.
